As a child when people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I’d say “I don’t know but I want to help people.”
Well, my journey has taken some interesting twists and turns since then, studying International Development at the University of Denver, where I developed a social conscience. Discovering yoga as a means of self-care during graduate school at Tulane while studying Public Health and the chronic disease epidemic. Working with the community in post-Katrina New Orleans and as a public health consultant for the St. Joseph Health System. Launching two companies simultaneously after finishing graduate school. Diving into the yoga therapy world, opening a brick and mortar studio and eventually developing the highest level of yoga training offered in all of Orange County, CA.
From all these experiences, I want to share what I’ve learned to lift up others on their personal or professional journeys and positively impact the health of communities by developing and implementing comprehensive yoga therapy programs.
As a Yoga Therapist I’ve found that I love working at the Vijnanamaya level; which focuses on values, relationships, personal and professional aspirations. Based on my decades of work with my teacher Robert Birnberg, our yoga therapy practices utilize the timeless wisdom of Yoga Sutras and best practices from Positive Psychology to guide our clients in creating more sustained joy in every aspect of life.
I’m available for in person or Skype sessions with an emphasis on lifestyle, relationships and career development.
Having created over 7 companies and 3 corporations since 2007, as well as opening a 2500 sqft brick and mortar wellness center, I’ve found I love creating and birthing new ideas into existence. In training and hiring hundreds of yoga teachers / therapists over the years, I naturally gravitate to sharing my best practices to ensure their success. I love assisting yoga teachers / therapists in clarifying their professional goals, identifying their unique offerings and the best way to share them with the world in a financially viable manner. I’d be happy to work with you to provide guidance and oversight so you can develop a thriving career as a Yoga Teacher or Yoga Therapist.
Public Health Applications
Public Health is where I started my professional journey. My skill sets include: Research, Program Development, Implementation and Evaluation for Community-based Health Intervention Programs. At this point, all public health application projects I taken on will include a yoga therapy or wellness component. If you are interested in bringing yoga / yoga therapy into your non-profit organization, community health center, corporation, hospital or clinic; I would be honored to develop a customized program to best meet the unique needs of your community.
